How do credits work exactly?

1 credit = 1 generated image, no matter what it is. The reference mascot costs 1 credit. Each additional pose costs 1 credit. Regenerating a pose with feedback costs 1 credit. Credits are deducted the moment generation starts, not when it finishes.

What happens if generation fails?

If the generation pipeline fails for any reason, your credits are automatically refunded to your balance. You can retry from Studio at no extra cost.

Can I regenerate a mascot I don't like?

Yes, but there's an important rule: you can only regenerate the reference mascot (the base character) before any poses have been generated. Once poses exist, the reference is locked — this keeps your pose set visually consistent. On Pro and Studio plans, any individual pose can be regenerated at any time with written feedback.

What's the difference between the two AI models?

GPT (OpenAI) and Gemini Flash (Google) are both great but have different aesthetics. GPT tends to produce more polished, illustration-style results. Gemini Flash is faster and great for vibrant, detailed designs. Try both on the same brand — they cost the same (1 credit each).

What are the available poses?

There are 5 built-in UI states: Onboarding (guiding new users), Success (celebrating completed actions), Error (softening broken states), Empty State (pointing to empty UI), and Loading (waiting during async work). You can also add up to 3 fully custom poses by describing the scene in plain text.

What's the difference between custom poses and custom pose descriptions?

Custom poses let any user add their own scene (e.g. "Celebrating a product launch"). Custom pose descriptions — available on the Studio plan — let you also control how the character should look in that scene, giving you much finer creative control.

Can I navigate away during generation?

Yes. Generation runs in the background on the server. You'll see a live status indicator in the sidebar with an elapsed timer. When it finishes, the indicator changes to "Mascot ready" and links you straight to Studio.

How many projects can I save?

Free accounts can save up to 3 mascot projects. Starter plans allow up to 5. Pro and Studio plans have no limit. Projects are listed in the Mascots dashboard and can be deleted at any time.

What file format do I get?

Every generated image is a high-resolution PNG with a transparent background. Your download is a ZIP file containing all poses in the project, sized for production use.

Can I use mascots commercially?

Yes. All paid plans include a full commercial license. Free-tier exports are watermark-free too — the commercial restriction applies to the plan terms, not the files themselves.

Credits from a subscription plan reset every billing period and don't carry over. Credits from a one-time credit pack (10 credits for $12) never expire and work alongside any plan.

Why is my URL not working for brand analysis?

MascotStudio reads the public HTML and assets of your page. If your site is behind a login, renders entirely client-side, or blocks bots, brand extraction may be partial or fail. In that case, try entering your marketing homepage or landing page URL instead.

Paste your website URL

Open Studio and enter your company URL. MascotStudio fetches your site, reads the colors, typography, and tone, then builds a brand profile automatically.

Pick a style and model

Choose from 6 styles — 3D Clay, Flat Vector, Pixel Art, Cartoon, Minimalist, or Chibi. Then pick an AI model (GPT or Gemini Flash). Both produce great results but with different aesthetics.

Generate the reference mascot

Hit "Analyze & Create Mascot". This charges 1 credit and kicks off the pipeline: brand analysis → AI generation → background removal. Takes 2–4 minutes.

Approve the character

Once the reference mascot is ready, review it. If you don't like it, regenerate it (1 credit) before any poses are locked in. Once you approve, this character becomes the anchor for all poses.

One generation at a time

MascotStudio only allows one project generation at a time per account. If you try to start a new one while another is pending, you'll get a conflict error. Wait for it to finish or fail first.
